CREATING A BOX WITH THE HORIZON LINE BELOW By placing the horizon line low on your page you can create an up shot of the box. Follow the same procedure which was taken for the first box. Step 1: This time, place the box above the horizon line. (Again it doesn't have to be a perfect square, it can be a rectangle, just as long as the sides are parallel.) |

Step 2: Extend lines from each of the corners to the vanishing point. |

Again, these lines represent the two sides, the top, and the bottom of the box. Next, define the depth of the box by placing another smaller rectangle behind it, attaching the corners to the lines extending to the vanishing point.
Step 3: Draw another rectangle parallel to the first one connecting each of the corners to the lines receding to the vanishing point. This rectangle represents the side of the box farthest away from you. |

Step 4: Now just erase the excess lines. |

You can increase the distance the first box is from the horizon line. This will present more of the bottom of the box to the viewer. You must be careful, however, not to move it too far away from the vanishing point, otherwise it will become a parallelogram. The solution to this problem is to introduce a second vanishing point. This will create a more realistic looking box. | ||||||||||
