Walk Cycle #1 | |||||||
Here is a walk cycle of a character called the Ultimate Wiener (he's one of the villians from The Zit comic story).
This is a 16 drawing walk cycle shot on two's. As I prepared to do this cycle I had to think about who the character is and what he's thinking. The Ultimate Wiener is very cocky and sure of himself. He's thinking, "I'm great, no one can defeat me!" So, he has a strut that is confident. He's also a very bulky character, lots of weight lifting to give him those big muscular arms. As he swings them back and forth, I altered the spacing to make them snap into the forward and back extremes. I also added a slight rotation on his upper body that moves with his shoulders. This helps to add some character as well as a sense of dimension. It keeps him from looking stiff and flat. |

Also notice his hips... the line of his shorts. Notice how it moves up and down, to add dimension as well.
If you look at his boots you'll also see some overlapping action as the tassles follow just slightly after the movement of the feet. To view and read more of a detailed analysis of this walk cycle, click here. |
