- This is one sequence within a larger movie. The first scene within a sequence is usually the establishing shot. This shot is usually a long shot showing the overall environment and all the primary characters. This is a good opportunity to go crazy with the composition. By this I mean setting up an interesting layering of foreground, midground and background elements, something you can’t always do within a regular scene. You might wish to incorporate a truck in or pan in this scene.

- In this scene we’ve moved in closer to focus on the two primary characters: Mustapha and Cassim who is providing the visual / physical comedy in this sequence by being completely subservient to Mustapha.

- Now we’re seeing the results of Mustapha’s displeasure with the previous actions of Cassim (in Sequence E-3).

- We focus on Mustapha who makes clear his intent to kill Ali Baba’s family.

- This scene introduces two of the forty thieves, Hassan and Codad.

- This scene re emphasizes Mustapha’s power over the thieves.

- A two shot of Hassan and Codad allows for a reaction shot to support the previous scene.

- Cut out to a wider shot allows us to see all the action taking place.
- Cassim walks past Hassan and Codad.
- Cassim delivers his jab at Hassan and Codad.
- Hassan and Codad show their disdain for Cassim.

- A medium shot of Hassan and Codad allows for emphasis to their feelings.

- Cassim, like a little child, tries to get in the last shot.
- Cassim gets his just desserts and it puts him back into his proper place within the hierarchy of the film.
