| Sc# E-5-1 to Sc# E-5-10 Location and Character Designs This sequence takes place just outside Ali Baba’s house in the court yard. The characters involved are Mustapha (the leader of the forty thieves), Cassim (the bumbling sidekick), Hassan and Codad (2 of the forty thieves). Story Mustapha and Cassim posing as oil merchants who have just finished eating their dinner at Ali Baba’s house. The two thieves having discovered that Ali Baba knows where their secret cave is located, actually mean to kill Ali Baba and his father Cali. Outside, in the court yard are 19 mules with 38 oil barrels. All but one of the barrels contains a thief waiting for Mustapha’s signal to jump out and attack. This sequence begins as Mustapha and Cassim exit out of the house into the court yard. |
