| The body took 4 hours to model along with the base which is just a thin layer of clay over a piece of 1/2" wood. After I had cooked the head, I attached it to the body and then baked them both together. All totaled with painting, it took me 9 hours to complete. I still have 3 more characters to add: Mustapha, Cassim and a thief hiding inside one of the barrels. Once they're done I'll add an updated link to thase pages.
As this is a demonstration sculpture for my character design class at Humber College in Toronto, Ontario, I'll be video taping the entire process for the other characters. Hopefully, I'll be able to edit it down and stick it on a DVD for sale before the end of the semester. Stay tuned for updates on how they're going. |
