Simplicity & Clarity

Try to find the simplest way to state the action or gesture. Don’t get into a lot of movement for the sake of movement itself. Get to the heart of the matter. This doesn’t mean that you should exclude any subtle nuances that might help to differentiate your character from other characters, just as great actors have personal mannerisms, so too should you give your character that extra breath of life. Just be careful that it doesn’t distract from the primary action that must take place within the scene.

Be clear in what it is you’re trying to say as a character through your actions.
