Line of Action

There are two lines of action ‘S’ curves and ‘C’ curves. They are called this because that’s what they look like. There is also the reverse S curve and reverse C curve. They look like a mirror image of the S or C.

The line of action runs through the pose. It’s usually the spinal column and an arm, the spinal column and a leg, or the spinal column and an arm and a leg. This line of action describes the thrust of the pose.
