Common Mistakes The most common mistake on this assignment is to not allow enough space for the character to comfortably do the actions required within the scene. You must plan out the total action of the character in advance. Dont forget to take the T.V. cutoff into consideration. Be careful of your vanishing point placement in two point perspective backgrounds. Placing the vanishing points too close together will create a forced perspective that will make the background look awkward. Be sure to keep the vanishing points far apart, off the background page. Incorrect placement of the horizon line is a common mistake on this assignment. Placing the horizon line too high and creating a downshot or placing the horizon line too low and making it an upshot. You want the viewer to feel like theyre right there in the court with the characters. When you plan out the characters action, choose a horizon line that is somewhere around the middle of the chest to the eye line. |
