Teddy Ruxpin Layout Background

Here's a classic pose of Teddy in all his cuteness.

After the show had aired on T.V. in 1986, there were the obligatory toys that went with the show. The talking Teddy was probably the most popular.

Teddy had a computer chip in him that allowed him to respond audibly while you were reading a storybook.

My Grandparents thought this would be a great Christmas gift for their 26 year old grandson.

After the initial shock, I stuck some batteries into him and "Let the fun begin!"

Teddy introduced himself and said how much he wanted to be my friend... then he died.

I put a new set of batteries into him but it was too late... Teddy was gone. In my sorrow, I took him back to the local Toys R Us store to get an exchange. When I walked in the door, there was (without any exaggeration) at least 30 other people lined up with dead Teddys in their arms.

The looks on their faces was great as they looked back at me knowingly as I joined the funeral procession.

I didn't get another Teddy, by the way.
