Oscar Party

Copper Heart, one of the partner companies involved in the production of the film, "Ryan" threw an "Oscar Party" for everyone who worked on the film. This was the first time that everyone was in one room with each other, all at the same time. There were about 75 people there.

The only people that I recognized were Chris, a couple of the producers and the people from Seneca College.

We all had the opportunity to hold the Oscar (it's actually pretty heavy) and get some pictures with it.

Here's a picture of Chris Landreth holding the Oscar and I'm holding the Genie. They're both about the same size and weight but the Oscar definitely has a better butt and I'm not quite sure as to what's going on with the Genies head???
Here's a shot of me with both of them.
Here's a picture with Dave Bass (painted up as Oscar), I kinda figured he'd come to the party doing something a bit weird. Dave was the Computer Graphics Producer on the film, he is also the Coordinator for the Maya Program at Seneca, a mighty fine Instructor and a former student of mine from the Summer School of Animation at Sheridan College quite a few years ago.

On the Right is Wadi Ejiwunmi who was also a student of mine at Sheridan in the Classical Animation program. Wadi was one of the Animators on the film.

Chris might look a little drunk but it was actually one of those "middle of a blink" pictures (sorry Chris).

Here's a group picture of all the Seneca people who worked on the film (that were at the party). From Left to right are:

Jeff Panko (animator),
Paul Kohut (animator),
Steven Lin (assistant system administrator in behind Paul),
Belma Abdicevic (lighting & rendering),
Sebastian Kapijimpanga (animator),
Wadi Ejiwunmi animator in behind Sebastian),
Dave Bachelor (character & set texturing),
me (storyboarding),
Dave Bass (Computer Graphics Producer and Oscar look-alike),
and down in front is Chris Landreth.
