Rock & Rule Gag Cartoons | |||||||||

These two cartoons were drawn by Tina Seeman who was also one of the assistant animators on the film. Every animator had 1 or 2 assistant animators working with them. When there wasn't enough work to keep an assistant busy, they had to forrage around for more work from other assistants.
One of the jobs of an assistant animator is quality control; making sure that the inbetweens were done properly, checking to see if all the lines were drawn consistantly and no details were missing. I became a bit of a freak when it came to checking over other assistants work they had done for me. If something was done wrong, I had to give it back to them for a redo. In this first cartoon I'm a preist taking confession from Tina, Trevor Davies (I think), and Bob Ardel, the big guy. Tina is confessing, "And, er, well, I left a button off the cufflink, and..." As time went on, I guess I just got worse and worse. In the second cartoon, Tina, Trevor and Bob are all shown having committed suicide and me bursting through the door saying, "That's more like it!" The signs around their knecks say, "He made me do it" and "Free at last..." Pretty gruesome stuff. |
