Things sort of ended on a sour note though. On the last story I was working on for Screwball Squirrel which had Droopy, the Wolf and Red all in it, called 'The Affection Connection'. Just before I had started the pencilling for the story, the rights to Droopy were sold to Turner Broadcasting and the editor was fired and another guy from Turner took his place. when I sent in my pencils for approval, they sent them back with revision notes saying that the Wolf's nose was too long. (I had drawn it that length for all the other stories, but they were now in charge). So, I shortened his nose and sent them back in. The pages came back saying the nose was still wrong. So, I changed it again. Sure enough it came back again saying it was wrong. I was starting to get frustrated with these guys (I've been through this before in animation studios, almost the identical situation). I figured, well I'll just trace off the original nose length and send it in and see what they think. The pages came back approved with a note saying, "Why didn't you do it like this in the first place??"

Happily, that was the last piece of work I had to do for them.
