I started with a floorplan for the laboratory:
I drew it to a scale of 1cm = 1foot. Anything smaller will make drawing the details on the wall elevations difficult. The overall dimensions of this drawing are 22" x 20".
Next, I drew the elevations of the walls. The first one is the view of the right side of the floor plan above, showing the main entrance and the windows in the large lab room on the upper level.
The next elevation is of the walls on the left side of the floor plan showing the turret, balcony and rear exit.
The area that is a slightly darker blue is where I cut the image in two and inserted andother sheet of paper to make the room wider. I did this because, after I drew a rough placement for the main machine, I found that it wouldn't fit inside the area without hitting the balcony, so I just expanded the room.
I still need to do some adjustments to the scales in order for them to work.
