Arm Point
The Arm point is a practical application of the Seaweed principle and successive breaking of joints (basically the same thing).

The energy of the movement begins in the shoulder and moves to the elbow which very subtly leads on the way up, followed by the wrist and then the tips of the fingers. The hand then does a little anticipation back before moving forward to push the button.

You could just animate the finger leading and going directly for the button in a straight line but adding the curved path of action and the anticipation is what gives the animation it's character.

Remember: good animators don't just move things from point A to B. Think about the little nuances that really make up the movements.
