| You are to animate the two characters in conversation with each other. Mustapha delivers his line and then Cassim responds. Mustapha reacts with a take of astonisment and then delivers his final line while grabbing Cassim and lifting him off the ground.

Use the storyboard panels provided here to plan out your scenes. Do not add scenes or alter the camera angles or field sizes - stick to what is in the storyboard. There is only one panel for each scene, it is up to you to add the appropriate action that goes with the dialogue.
Concentrate on the facial expressions, mouth positions, anticipation, action and reaction of each character. Make sure any gesture you have is complimentary to the line being delivered. Be sure to add some form of attitude and a head/body turn to this animation.
Be sure to have the non-speaking character react in an appropriate way, properly timed to the other character's actions and dialogue.
Shoot the animation as a line test once, and submit it on a CD in .avi format. Be sure to label the file with your last name first and first name last.

Grading
This Assignment is worth 40% of the second semester grade (as a substitute for the failed assignment grade).
Animation will be graded in the following areas:
• Strong Key Posing
• Appropriate, Realistic Timing
• Proper Anticipation, Action, Reactions
• Overlapping Action
• Structural, three dimensional drawing
• Proper use of mouth positions
The animation must show appropriate squash and stretch, realistic timing, proper slo-in and slo-out, torque, tilt, and twist in the head and shoulders as you've been taught all through 2nd year. Character animation must sync to the dialogue recorded.

Scheduling
Week 1
• Download the voice tracks from the website.
• Transefer sound into computer and save as a .wav sound file (Must be completed by Week 2).
• Begin Soundtrack breakdown and exposure sheet fill-in (Must be completed by Week 2).
• Begin storyboard, thumbnails or rough keys (Must be completed by Week 2).
Week 2 (May 1st)
• Exposure sheets completed.
• Storyboards, thumbnails or rough key animation completed
• Continue or begin key animation and major breakdowns (must be completed by Week 3).
Week 3 (May 8th)
• Begin missing breakdowns and all inbetweens (must be completed by Week 4).
• Reviewing keys and breakdowns.
• Revisions as necessary
Week 4 (May 15th)
• Complete final animation with sound track syncronized properly
• Revisions as necessary
Week 5 (May 22nd)
• Hand in Mustapha and Cassim animation assignment.
