I was trying to keep the designs soft yet solid looking. The characters were all based on plush toys that were to be marketed at the same time as the comic books.
The bear design shown back on the Designing Cartoon Characters for Animation book page was the main character in the series. There was a whole community of characters that helped teach good old family values.
